5G XI & SI - Don't enter unless your getting your geek on!

GOGS has posted up his car in his profile. He say's its a an SI, it has SI written on the slam panel, but it has no rear wiper.
Years ago on PUK a few of us got as much info as we could and came up with a thread that goes over the differences between the 5th gen UK and JDM cars.
@RattyMcClelland posted up the Honda technical sheets for both the XI and SI so I took the info from there. Do you have that info again Ratty as the links are dead on PUK. That same info is on other english sites:
XI -
http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/honda ... 8_9/12979/
SI -
http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/honda ... 8_9/12980/
It too states that the XI has no rear wiper whereas the SI does. I am not the only one to have picked up on this difference. Kawa in his summary of generations in the wiki states this as well.
So what's going on? Has Honda given out the wrong info from the start? Or is something up with GOGS slam panel plate showing SI instead of XI? Thoughts?

No wiper hole bung showing in his pics.
Thinking about it now the literature must be wrong. The XI is SOHC but GOGS engine looks DOHC?
Its deffo not the first time Honda's own literature is not true.

Another source:
The fifth-generation still retained the front-wheel-drive (FWD), front-transversal (FF) with independent double wishbone with trailing arms & coil springs with hydraulic gas-pressurized progressive valving and variable power-assisted rack & pinion steering. All fifth-generation Honda Preludes came with 6.5JJx16.0 aluminum alloy rims with all-season 205/50 R16 87V tires (or tyres), except the Xi (5.5JJx14.0 steel wheels with full wheel caps with 195/65 R14 89H tires) where aluminum alloy rims came as a dealer option and the Si (6.5JJx15.0 aluminum alloy rims with all-season 195/60 R15 88H tires.) The fifth-generation Honda Prelude acquired a 63/37 weight distribution. Unlike in the USDM, Japanese Honda Preludes all had rear windshield washer wipers (except the Xi trim.)

But it does also say that the SI did have the option of the alloys. Although I would not put it past Japanese dealers to offer the alloys to XI owners as well. Edit - Yup in the technical links above the XI is listed as having the option of alloys

Dont forget he said the bumper where changed.. if i recall properly... so if it did have a bump.. maybe the rear window cracked.. so maybe it was replaced with a window with no wiper in it

^^^this. or one of the previous owners did a proper job of deletion. If we were talking about a Nissan GTR then I would wonder if the factory got a misplaced run (not likely, lol) or the lit was off but with our cars, having a few more years should we say, I think a little more leeway should be given.
Maybe the back window got smashed at some point and the repair company had no replacement with the wiper hole? Maybe if gogs checked the mounting points for the actuator and motor for witness marks we could rule out post factory modification? If all the mounts are clean of scratches then we know we are looking for a more tricky answer.

As said, him confirming weather or not he has a rear wiper function on his stalk would answer a few of the above questions

edit... beat me to it. ^^^^
do the 5th gens have a button in the dash for the rear wiper or is it on the stalk like other hondas with rear wipers.
if it had one then the stalk should still have the rotating collar on the stalk.
just check for a wire loom in the boot too.
