Fairly normal to be honest mate.
Down santapod i seen a lot of vxrs and they run slower 1/4 miles than ludes.
Never raced against one myself though.

I had a 2.0T astra, the engine before it was the VXR and the power delivery was difficult at best. It has more power & torque but as it arrives in big lumps it's very difficult to put it down well

Yeah they look quite a bit better from what Top Gear were saying.

278 bhp apparently form the new one with 5.9 seconds to 62 mph
again, I think power delivery will be the problem. If they haven't addressed that it'll be more of the same

The new ones are a case of a car that looks worse in the flesh. On paper the GTC looks a lovely design, those ive seen out-and-about are MASSIVE. Its a really 'tall' shell.
Fair play to GM for putting all that top notch suspension stuff into it though. They'll be a ridiculous bargain in a few years.
I work in Corby and the Vauxhall storage place nearby has thousands upon thousands of cars just sat there deteriorating. I'm not a fan of the marque but the sight is a real shame.

Was it the older VXR or the very latest VXR??
And what sort of times were you putting in when beating them??
On a good 1/4 mile surface, the older VXR will put down high 14s/low 15s with a good driver.
