The Snow!

Post by jjmartin349571 » Mon Mar 11, 2013 9:32 pm

Hi folks,

Not sure what the weather is doing out your way, but here in East Sussex it's pretty cold. Snow fell and rapidly turned into ice, the roads are completely slick now

Anyway, when I popped home for lunch I noticed my cars were developing icicles, and thought I'd get some pics of my wintered cars for the hell of it :)

Anyway this evening it had all settled and the wind chill was -8!! very cold out, even the car I drove home in didn't shed any icicles :?

Not bad for march!!

What's happening in the rest of the country then?

F'ing windy here with snow flurry's, it's currently -1.3oC but with wind chill it's much less

Doesn't help that the central heating here is poor at best, might have to have 3 duvets tonight lol

My house is not far set back from the cliffs, so we just get the sea wind blasting in constantly :( The windchill is awful, I thought I was going to lose my hands when I was setting up the Scirocco's carb Sunday afternoon. Our bins constantly blow away too

Our central heating was broken for ages, it was so cold over winter in this house :( I was waking up with my throat and nose burning from the cold  I've fixed it now though so all good now luckily!!

The snow flurries out the front are mad this evening, looks like bloody Siberia out there with all the icicles and snow drifting

Well it was freezing in portishead today not a great day for running a valet bay but we managed 5 full valets and a load of washes. Every time I washed a car a blizzard came in and turned the car to ice had to defrost it before doing anymore work. My right index finger has a metal plate in and I couldn't move my finger all day lol

I'm in a new build, the windows have these gay vents on the top that even when 'closed' let cold air pour in  You can literally stick your hand into the current of cold air that runs out from under the curtains and feel it pouring through the gap. Between that and the dog eating through the dry wall I've got to say I think new builds are possibly the worst houses to live in  what happened to bloody brick built houses with airtight windows?! My parents live 2 roads away in a house built in the 70's - it's so warm and quiet inside, even when it's blowing a gale outside in winter. My house sounds like it's coming down as soon as there's a breeze!

We managed to get sheet ice on the roads without the sun melting the snow :? Council have been lazy methinks!
