Finally got my car working now after buying it over a week ago and only driving it for about 5mins before it died, then it sitting on my drive waiting for parts.

Turns out it was the alternator, had the replacement arrive today only for the pulley to be broken (happened in transit i think), the guy in the garage managed to use the one of the broken unit though
