Prelude length

Can anyone point me in the direction of a 5G schematic?

I don't trust the length given on Wiki. It's that time of year when I renew my parking permit, the Prelude (no choice of year) is apparently over 4.45 metres. The 5G is +7cm over the limit according to Wiki so is going to cost me more to park than if I had a 4G (-1cm under according to Wiki). This is not fair.

Going just by Wikipedia there is a 0.5 metre range in length between the generations, this means the difference in parking a 1G vs a 5G per year is the grand sum of £12! But there is no option for which year of Prelude you're buying a permit for. A massive oversight by Norwich City Council if you ask me. :geek:

If I can prove the 5G is under 4.45 I will save 12 quid per year and one of you will get some rep. I know it's only 12 quid but there are already more cars than spaces on my street and I don't want to pay more than I should when I can't park anywhere near my house half the time anyway.

Also I have no idea what sums they used to come up with the pricing but it isn't proportional/making sense to me.

vehicle length 6 months 12 months 18 months
Residents - short vehicle £12 £17 £21
Residents - medium vehicle £17 £26 £35
Residents - long vehicle £24 £38 £50

:| Don't make sense. Normal for Norfolk?

Also I will welcome any rep for most boring thread of 2013 if you like. I'm sure I've got 2nd and 3rd place in the running somewhere too.

If you cba to read that then just tell me the official length of a 5G please :D

Yep, definitely!

Take the rear bumper off, that'll save about 10 cm?

I have to pay to park in the road at my place.
They don't discriminate* on length though, it costs sod all and it does mean the road is always clear :D
Unfortunately I think I'm the one that's actually been ticketed the most though, for various stupid reasons :?

*(maybe you could try and sue the Council for discrimination?)

Yes but Lewis you also live in Lowestoft :?

My brother lives in Beccles and had his pushbike nicked off him in the street

They must dislike me already, every week I use their online reporting form to send them updates on the pothole situation on the roads near me, not to mention my road falling away into drains in places. Oh and the bin men not putting the bins back on the pavement and just leaving them in the road, which is only wide enough for one line of parallel parked cars and one lane of traffic (although admittedly it is a one way street). NCC is jobby. The parking wardens do zero work, quite often people without a permit park all day on the street or residents take up the 2 hour slots for days on end, yet I've had one wheel over a double yellow and was left a snotty note under my wiper.

I like to complain  but why not? I pay my dues, mostly. If anyone fancies a possibly facetious read I can always share the nice letter I sent to college today after receiving notice that I should expect debt recollection agencies knocking on my door if I didn't give them the money that I owe, which I will say is only 3.8% of the total fees.

Thanks Vtecmec, it does

Maybe I will print out the 4G one for them what give permits at city hall. They don't know that I have two visitor permits (only allowed one!!! :o ) so I'm sure they wont notice the difference. :?
