Fantastic went in the garage to find a dam mouse has decided to eat the leather sofa I was storing in their for when we move out!! Poped a trap down and half hour later the little sh*t was dead nice one! But about 20mins later my hand brake decided to fail so the vectra rolled down the drive and smashed into the garage!!! Smashed headlight AGAIN, cracked bumper and dented crash bar!

Isn't Vectra handbrake failure a well known fault? I seem to remember Anne Robinson doing a couple of pieces on it in Watchdog.

Yep it is and iv found out first hand! First time iv not left it in gear....
When the brakes are used heavily the disks get hot. The disks can expand by as much as 2mm when they're hot. But the handbrake system uses the same cylinder as the rear brake (unlike in the Vectra B). So when you apply the handbrake to expanded disks it works perfectly until the disks cool down. When the disks cool down they shrink, thus reducing the pressure and effectively releasing the handbrake for you.
It's a design fault

Yep, it's a recall also, so get in touch with your local dealer who will be able to tell you if it's been done.
I had the same for my Signum (Vectra chassis) a couple of years ago.
