you can get some stuff on ebay for 9quid, very similar to fly eye
from a distance looks blacked out but still road legal
tramroadmotors pickup headlights done in it
looks really good

Sorry, only just seen this...
Erm, can't remember the name of the stuff TBH, but it is good stuff. Its a mesh of dots which clings and sets with a heat gun. Its lasted perfectly well so far... and does the job.
Edit: Just looked on ebay at the £9 stuff and it looks exactly like the same material.

it would be the same stuff as real fly eye is little hexagons
thinking of doing this under my blackout covers
can you see the coppers face when he says please remove the covers
