Lude Generation

Just wondering do many people go through this stage if wanting to sell up or scrap there car lol,

I'm doing a project at the mo, now the engines out I think I should respray the engine bay, but am getting seriously pissed of with no garage, no space to store stuff, the amount of work and the serious amount of my time it takes up, leaving me less time for other things, I mean its just a car at the end of the day, but the 4th gen is my favourite looking honda and they all need a serious effort to put right again.

Sometimes I just want to pack it all in buy a newer car and sit back and relax, instead of trying to get out to fix something over and over again. Oh and I fooling hate rust!!

I think everybody goes through this I have quite a few times

I've just gone out to the car and found a drokking albatross jobby on the rear quarter that was only done with the arch just before Christmas.
Said drokking dump has only been on there a MAXIMUM of 10 hours, and it's already eaten into the lacquer to the point that I'll have to actually fine sand it back.

Yes, sometimes I wonder why I drokking bother.

I also wonder what the dead drokking bird will taste like, once I shoot the c***.

Definitely! I put my car in storage for 5 years cos I fell out of love with it. I'm enjoying working on it now more than ever though

Tell me about that feeling mate. I'm sitting inside my Golf as I type this, just thinking 'drokk, there's so much I need to do to this car before it's right again'. I've just been focussing on small tasks, like today I replaced the shitty yellow door with a slightly less shitty black one. I then swapped the internals, and next I'm going to start drilling out the rivets on the arches so I can refit the big bumper trim properly.

I also have my Prelude, Scirocco and 6th gen Accord to sort still...

I quite often have days where I just have to leave the cars, after all it's a hobby, it shouldn't become a chore. After a little break I start to enjoy myself again and I get excited about how awesome it'll be once the car is tip-top again

My car's been sat on stands now for 3 years. Initially I took it off the road to simply poly bush it and remove the power steering. I've removed the power steering, but then I fancied doing a wire tuck. I've done the majority of it, but then I fancied uprating a few other bits and bobs whilst it was off the road. But then I started thinking well if I'm changing this, I might as well change that at the same time, so I've been collecting parts ever since. Needless to say I've not done a great deal on my car in a long long time, but mainly because I too can only work outside, so I need the evenings to be light and dry. But not once have I considered packing it in... I only look forward to the day it is finally back on the road/track as I know it'll be worth it

That said, I could have bought a souped-up working 600+bhp R32 Skyline with the amount of money I've spent on the lude to date a I love those cars!

Sometimes I sit here and think of what I'd like to do and what I can afford to do.

Then I get in it for a drive and tbh even in essentially stock form its brilliant

It's only when you have to spend money on something a bit boring but necessary that you feel a bit disgruntled I guess. But you have that with any car really.
