Spiders

Post by jjmartin349571 » Tue Jun 18, 2013 11:51 pm

They're over running my garage, to the point I'm too scared to go in there

Does anyone know a good way to banish the bastards back outdoors? I won't kill them under any circumstance (don't ask  ) so that's not an option. Anyone had any good results through peaceful methods?

Tbh I can cope with smaller ones, but it would appear the large, brown, fast variety have arrived. I've had one that was too big to go in a pint glass drop on my face before :( they put the shitters up me those ones do and until they're gone I can't see much work being done on the cars

And yeah I know spiders eat all other nasty things, but tbh I find the cure scarier than the problem so I'd prefer them back outdoors! :)

Cheers,
Josh

Clean it out, you don't find many spiders in a clean house!
I have kleptomania,
But when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

This was in our house the other day.
As to helping you, just Hoover it and insulate around the bottom of the doors?

Don't you get plug in ultrasonic things for this purpose?

The garage is hard to keep clean though, not in a dirt sense but in a clutter sense. All my car parts are in there  the rest of the house is mercifully spider free :) I Hoover every day as a result of the dog hair generated by 1 black lab, and he does his bit by consuming any spiders that walk in

Kris, that thing looks like it's waiting to drag someone away :? Those are the horrifying running/face jumping ones I've been driven out by! I've hoovered all the cobwebs out once, so I guess I'll try again. And like you say, I'm going to seal the edges of the door, and I'm also going to patch any gaps in the stud walls

I saw those earlier, but I'm not convinced spiders can hear ultrasound? I just never had spiders down as being able to hear things.

Apparently they deter roaches, mice and spiders too :?

Thinking about it, my last cat was effective at controlling spider numbers. Unpleasant to watch the legs poking through his lips and twitching though.

It's a territory thing. You need to dress up in a big feckoff spider costume and make growling noises and shake your legs menacingly. Intimidate the muffins.

Get some frogs. Or shrews.
Failing that, you could get a pet Cambodian and not ask what he's frying in oil and garlic. (And no, this isn't a racist comment: spiders are a regional delicacy.)
