F22B Turbo??? Worth it?

Hi guys

I don't really get involved in the forums much anymore but I still plan on getting another lude just holding out for mint Type S... (wish me luck)
But this talk of boosting a F22B has made my ears stand up... I used to own a BB5 JDM 2.2SI that had the F22B lump in and I loved it. No VTEC and I think it dyno'd at about 160bhp.
Anyway, they arent very common but when they do sell, they sell for peanuts (I sold mine remember, I know lol) and the ones I've seen have all been low mileage examples. My old one even had LSD.

What sort of work and money would need chucking at it to get a decent turbo on one? Would it be worth it in your opinion??

Cheers
Brett

I have a figure of around 5k in my head but who knows how helpful that is. By the time you factor in tuning and engine management you're already over a g. Plus you want to do it properly and use decent parts etc.

F22 is perfect for turbo and if done over time waiting on bargains to come up you can do it for 3k easy I would think plus quicker than a type s if done right a standard type s anyway

Have a look for Vlad's Mk4 Prelude. He did F22 turbo so have a look on his topic and chat with him about total price.

Power is not cheap in Preludes. For comparison a good NA build will be in the region of £10K.

I wouldn't look to go silly power. Low to mid 200s would be fine. That's the main attraction of the type S... That and those type S seats... :geek: lol
So I'm thinking 3k would secure me a pretty good type S. The reason for the post was to see if an F22 could be boosted to type S power for less Money. The impression I'm getting is no, though.

Forget the "S" buy this instead http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/general ... t8197.html Exactly the same except it has LSD instead of ATTS. You can mod it to your hearts content without fear of ATTS limiting you 8-)
