I want to do the clutch on my car, as I'm changing the engine but I just want to know the difference between the 4th and 5th gen clutch kit as they look like the same dimensions as far as i'ved research but the prices are way different, I've read on here someone using the civic type r clutch kit, can anyone tell me the part number or model civic please, thanks.

4th and 5th clutches are the same i think. and your talking about a accord type r clutch and not a civic type r clutch
The accord clutch meant to have better pressure plate. 8-)

yeah I meant accord  does it matter what year? I was looking at the civic type r clutch plate and they have the same number of teeth 24 and dia 225mm I think, according to eBay the prelude has the same

Keva8, ive enquired about this several times.

The clutches are all the same fitment for the h-series engines/gearboxes

Here are several threads covering the subject

@Merlin just fitted an ATR clutch to his 5th gen and test drove it tonight
you should be able to get the ATR clutch from Honda for about £150.

Yeah this is the one I have which is £145 delivered. http://www.coxmotorparts.co.uk/genuine- ... p-592.html

My local Honda said they could do the same kit for ~£139.

There is a tiny difference in the size of the friction plate.http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/honda-p ... t2094.html I couldn't tell you if there is any mechanical difference in the pressure plate but the ATR and Prelude pressure plates are visually the exact same. I am sure they had the same stamps on them.

The ATR clutch is 220mm too.
