Wind + Roadworks + Fencing + Lude

Driving home tonight when a gust of wind caught the fencing around some roadworks, blew them out into traffic, and more specifically, my car. Dented and scraped the wing and bumper, and I collected the traffic cone that it threw under the car too.

Thankfully the guys at the site were on the ball and quickly appeared to sort the fencing, give me the details for their head office, and they also took some pictures of my car they were going to send on.

Unfortunately, it seems their head office is currently closed, so I'll need to phone again tomorrow. Scary event though, thoroughly pooped myself as it happened.

Bad luck, though good that they saw the incident and will probably make good.

Looks like it's damaged your rear quarters too ;) , and the only remedy will be for them to replace them completely. :hurr:

Unlucky Graham, but at least the guys are happy to help you sort it. Would have been a lot more inconvenient had they not been there. Fingers crossed it turns out alright.

Who was the Contractor?, if they are a large outfit you'll find they will treat this quite seriously and bend over backwards to sort it out.

I was going to suggest the same thing, although to be honest, they could have killed someone. I think a lot more than just paying for the damage is in order :? or are we turning into claim Britain!! Hope you get it sorted man. Good Luck :)

Then they'll consider the desire to avoid any negative PR (or an effect on considerate constructors scores and such), it's probably an insurable event but the premiums will probably dictate a self funded solution. You may find they may want to keep it quiet and bunce something your way for your inconvenience and cooperation.
