Any plumbers out there?

Post by Lovedoctor » Mon Jul 22, 2013 11:23 am

A quick question. Is there such a thing as a cross shaped isolation valve? I have a t piece one that feeds the washing machine from the cold water feed but whenever I want to use the hose I have to swap the connectors over which is a PITA! Without cutting the piping to fit another T piece isolation is there anything out there??

That's a three way or T shape. I am after a cross or X shaped one with 4 ways. Water feed, sink, washing machine and hose.

Ah I see, sorry. Stick two of those 3-way valves together like this --> TT ..that then has 4 outlets :)

The tap is outdoors. I have a connector that runs to the water feed under the sink. That is why i need or would rather a 4 way so water is always accessible outdoors without changing the connectors under the sink. Cant be assed faffing and cutting pipes to put another isolator valve but it looks like my only option :x

I'd fit an isolator valve to the outside tap anyway. Should it freeze, you won't lose the supply to the stuff indoors while you're working on it.

Doubt you'd get a 4 way ISO valve as there isn't a direction the valve can be turned to shut off the flow. The easiest option for an additional connection is a self tapping connector like one of these;
