5.1 Amplifiers?
Quite like to add surround sound to my TV, I have a set of creative speakers and sub that I've had for years (but the amp has gone pop)
I take it that the speakers would work with an amp as long as I don't whack the volume up
Any suggestions for amps? Doesn't have to be new and my budget isn't that big so i'd like to keep it as cheap as possible (It will need optical in though to connect my freeview box)

The slimline panasonic surround amps are great ammo, I'm still using one years later and I used to work with this stuff.
They have a couple of optical ins, no hdmi on mine, but I put the ps3, tivo etc through it and it still sounds great.
Should be able to pick them up cheap on the bay, let me have a look for an example.

Here you go, mine is the SA-XR25, this is the SA-XR15 - I think it may have slightly fewer input options:

Cracking little amps, much more poke and better quality than you expect.

Get yourself to a richer sounds outlet, I have an Onkyo 7.1, and my boy has an onkyo 5.1 in his bedroom, excellent value for money they always have special offers on, try there website and have a look in the clearance section, or alternatively try a sound bar with wireless sub, i've got an LG one rigged up in the bedroom
