Went to get something out of the back seat so folded the drivers seat down, couldn't find it so put the seat up and put my hand on the drivers seat to lean over to the passenger seat.

At this point the Driver seat gets a little excited and the seat belt buckle pops up

Honestly try it, it may be JDM only who knows

Yup - noticed this too (UKDM). Pops up as people sit down

So if I retract my seats the seatbelt comes out!?

The clip, next to the centre console, will fold out of the way down beside the seat when no-one is sitting in it. As soon as someone sits down, the weight makes the clip pop up so they can clip their seatbelt in.

Simple thing, but pretty clever
