How Much.....

Morning All,

As some of you have probably noticed I haven't been around on here for a while. Been having allsorts of stuff going on in family life, the upshot of which is that I am having to seriously think about selling the lude.

I need something that is cheaper to run and more suited for long motorway cruising - the lady's C3 is a nightmare long distance and the lude is costing me a fortune, one of them has to go and I think it's gotta be the lude.

So just looking for a realistic opinion of what I should ask for it. I am not in a hurry and happy to sit and wait for a decent price. After the work that I have put into this car I am not gonna stick it on ebay and let it go for 500 quid

I would rather it took 6 months to go!

It is a lovely looking car and it drives well. Never let me down once. It has one owner from new before me, who was a 60 year old magistrate so it has never been thrashed to death. It gives the usual puff of smoke the first time you hit the VTEC but that is it.

It is the A8 engine (Obviously Manual!) No crunchy gearbox, everything works as it should, fully reprayed, all new calipers all round it, loads of sensors etc replaced, Awkward jobs like fuel filter etc done, new gearbox fluid, brake fluid just changed. refurbed wheels etc, engine bay tidied up etc. It has all been done with 2 pack paints in a heated bay and laquers and heat cured, no spray can rubbish here

That is the Car and everything else that has been painted on it. It is fairly unmolested mechanical modification wise. I have an exhaust that hasn't yet been fitted so that will go with the car.

The only thing that currently needs sorting is the vinyl wrap on the roof was damaged by a 3 week old bird s**t while I was away a couple of months ago, but I will replace the wrap before it sells anyway.

Pioneer Head unit with bluetooth/USB/Ipod/SD Card 6x9 infinity in the shelf, Sony 6" in the doors 2 amps in the boot - fitted under matching covers either side of boot. 12" Pioneer boxed sub. Sounds lovely.

Service history up to when I got it and then serviced by me - oil every 3000miles. Just had new Mintex discs all round

It had 130K on it, and will have a fresh years MOT/6months tax.

If you can keep it and buy a smaller car. 1.0 litre corsa or the like. Do it. If short term money worries are the issue. Do you have a place to keep the car?

is there no way you can give the C2 the boot

That is the problem. I don't have anywhere to put the car and to be honest if it came off the road it would probably sit for 12-18 months with nothing happening at all which is not a situation I want - enough to worry about atm without that too.

The C3 has gotta stay - it cost shag all to run, is 2 years old, we own it outright it only has 6000 miles on it and more importantly the kids fit! And my wife can't drive the lude

I it not a for sure thing yet, just want to guage what you guys think it would be worth at this point.

Is my post invisible??? Seriously, consider an LPG conversion - mine is done and is as cheap to run as a 1.2 Corsa!

That would cure one part of the problem, the other part is space. Try getting two parents that are getting abit elderly into the lude - it is not really easy (Read impossible!!) And that problem is harder to overcome. And that is the main problem that is probably not going to go away now.

The fuel cost issue is one consideration but it is not a huge problem, more annoying really! I knew it wasn't gonna be the cheapest car in the world to run when I bought it and kind of accepted it but it is getting stupid with the milage I am doing atm.

Has anyone got any idea what it might fetch IF I did sell it?

haha no worries. The best way to do it is to buy an LPG kit and fit it yourself, I'll happily let people use my car for reference, but they really are just plug and play - the only thing I would recommend doing is getting a spare inlet mani as you have to drill it to put the LPG injectors in.

Saying that, there are companies listing conversions on ebay pretty cheap - i.e. these guys.

I'd say £2K as it need some vinyl work.. If you get that sorted then advertise it for £2.5k..

Very nice car with a nice H22A8 and finished in lovely white..
