So come on then lets have a chat about this
ACTIVE TORQUE TRANSFER SYSTEM
why do you think its soooo good ?
its a bit of a grey area for me not having it but ffs its just a diff, its the reason why you can't achieve loads of power because your ecu won't let you and its the reason why you cant disconnect your abs for some tidy reliable brakes that work when your foot wants them to rather than when the ecu decides its safe to apply that much braking force.
maybe im missing something here but i really don't think so, a prelude is a drivers car and surely a half decent driver can cope with an lsd and doesn't need to have some restrictive electronic device to pull him round the corner.
personally i think a half decent lsd car with no abs would way out perform a type s any day of the week.
so you have nice seats in a type s but nobody raves on about them yet the 1 thing that restricts you is all you keep on about, ATTS.
i would be very interested to see how a type s performs on the track against a non type s, for example petes car or si imports or bristol bb4's car.
so whats your thoughts guys and would anybody want to do a track day and check out my theory, type s V lsd car
my moneys on the lsd car.

Well I've driven a type s on track and my bb4 with atr diff
I found the atts stunning on track it really pulls the car around the corner nicely, you can feel it working and adjusting for grip, the brakes are pretty awesome to its only running ferodo 2500 pads and its very stable braking I didn't have abs cutting it to early or anything.
My bb4 is possibly more controlled on the corners but the r888s help to, I found the atr diff power hungry but you know when it's hit it's limit, the brakes without all the abs lot are good but less stable, if the roads uneven the brakes can pull you in odd direction but the abs would balance that all out.
IMO the atts is great but also a little boring. I'm trying to talk him into turboing it now the engine is pumping out oil faster than shell can make it!!!!

Nice to have a sensible and un biased reply from someone with experience of both, how do you think you would come outof a head to head pete ?

Well I've been on track against him and while he's a good driver the cars only putting out 200 against my 236 so I completely destroyed it on the track and that was with my stock m2a4 open diff, I'm now 5-6 secs a lap faster hehehe
I'd rather change his engine and fit the m2b4 box, the ratios of the atts are a little to long for track. But he wants to keep it and the extra 100kg weight of it all??
Have you ever tryed doin a simple inlet removal on a type s? Don't bloody bother, just take the engine out and fit a new one. It's prob easier ha

lol, if you have not tried it its like you telling us that blowjobs with condoms are just as good, if not better, than blow jobs without, not having persuaded a girl to do it without.... Go back to bed tramroad, you must be drunk. Unqualified arguments face a paddlin'
Now, having driven and enjoyed all ludes available I would say that the atts system on the lude, for its time, was and still is a trick piece of kit for full throttle fun on UK roads. Maybe in the hands of a 'professional' an lsd will get you round a track faster but none of us are and none of us are on track all the time. It makes the car feel much more planted and feels more RWD than the normal grinding understeer associated with all other ludes I have spanked. LSD ludes feel more 'open' maybe but only marginally and not anything like the bonus you get with all the other bits associated with atts (stronger suspension parts, two more ball joints etc etc active abs etc etc)
I chose the type S, over all the other I have driven and owned, for the way it handles in the twisties on UK roads. No other lude chassis has come close. imho. each to their own though! but you cant shout off without having driven one...
On real roads with real corners and real tarmac changes and real potholes I know a type S would spank a 4WS and would pull on an LSD equipped car of the same power. On track? Meh, who cares but for a few hours a year while on track? We are a community of road warriors after all.
Until you have had a go in a type S I dont think you can comment on it and expect anything but a mocking... same as if some noddy was telling me that I should try it with a condom on next time as it feels better.
