Trollry Jack modification

Would it be ok if I took the wheels off of my trolley jack? I can't get it under my sideskirts without jacking the rear up with a scissor jack first... I know the jack sometimes moves about under the car as you're lifting it up but would it make much/any difference if I removed the wheels to give me a little more clearance?

Really it needs the wheels to relocate the base as it jacks up higher and then vice versa when lowering again. If you remove the wheels it will tip instead and this is dangerous.
Why not drive up on to some slabs or planks to give you some extra clearance?

This is often well worth doing, and you don't need much extra to make a useful difference.

This is a pain in the arse

I do the same as you and jack the rear up a bit with my scissor jack. Or i lift the car myself and get someone else to slide the jack under.

^^ that's not bad, a 2" lift would do it.

Can you not jack up the rear using the trolley jack then put axle stands @ the jack points?

Yes, I could, but I'm lazy and if I'm only wanting to jack up the front I don't want to have to jack up the back first
