Breaking Preludes?

As the title says really. If it has a problem which will cost alot to put right and then fair enough. I tottaly understand this, and if the problem getting fixed costs more than the car is worth i get this too.

But........

To break one to just get extra cash really upsets me because there such nice cars. It will come to the point when there will be very few left if this keeps happening imho, yes i know it will take along time for this but still.
This may even raise the value of the remaining ones, but am not cool with this. I read on ebay so many ludes are for breaking just because there will be more money in it. I think this has to stop. If you put time into your lude and make her fantastic, wouldnt you want to see someone else enjoy it when you come to sale it? Or would you rather be selling for parts? [then one great project totally destroyed] I myself am a man of little money tbf but when the time comes i will be selling her how she is. I know i would get far more money for breaking the lude, but this would destroy me inside and all the time and effort i have put into it! As a man of little money as i have said, i feel i am of good example here, which i think is a good thing tbh.I am not motivated by money but I could really do with the extra money when getting rid, but just could not bring myself to break my pride and joy.

RANT OVER...

Thoughts fellow people? Also thoughts of people who are loaded and also the poor like me please, and offcourse the inbetween!

Yeah breaking Preludes for cash is bad. But it is happening so much at the moment that the price of 2nd hand parts is very low, so the incentive to break a car is not as much. There was a real glut of parts on the forum last year and OEM parts were not shifting.

Hopefully the cars being broken are the crappy ones anyway leaving the nice ones left. I don't have a problem with poor examples being broken for parts.

When I buy an after market part I always try and keep the original so if do need to get rid, I can put it back to stock and sell the after market part.

I'm poor like you, and I'm for breaking Prélude.

WE have to be realist : absolutely NOBODY wants à Prelude. There is a lot of cheap Prélude for sale that are in perfect shape. I prefer to breack them out, make money, make cheap rare parts for my friends, or free repairing parts, than looking at them dying on a yard...

He's right, most people only bought a prelude cos it was cheaper than a civic.

I've broken a few for the parts and made a tidy profit and kept some good bits for myself, as some parts don't come up forsale 2nd hand then sometimes buying a complete car is the only way to do it unless you can afford brand new parts knowing your always goin to lose money on what many cases are sub £1000 cars.

i've broken a few and it doesn't bother me, never really going to make loads off one breaking it but who in there right mind is going to spend a fortune on something that can just be replaced for less money.

I paid more for my old Prelude than you would for a Civic.

Rather have my lude over a civic! I was in same mind set about stripping parts of mine to raise some cash but when came down to it thought amount time and effort spent gettin car how want it knew would regret it!
