Hi Guys,
I need a complete low mileage good H22A engine with the manifold please. I might need the engine loom - I am doing a 4th Gen H23A swap with a H22A.
I'll also be needing a 4th Gen 2.2i VTEC Automatic ECU from a 4th Gen - P13 A11 which ill put a separate wanted request for.
If you have one, please let me know.
Cheers
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Is there a specific reason you're after an H22a5? If you got an engine from a 4th gen you'd simplify things considerably, in that the engine loom would pretty much just work bar the VTEC link from ecu to bulkhead. No messing with distributors/injectors etc.

I was speaking to VTEC Direct and they suggested a H22A5 engine. They said the loom on my H23A is fine and the would just need to add a VTEC signal wire to it.
I don't think it will matter if it's a H22A5 or not, as long as it's been kept stock. I don't mind even getting a donor 4th Gen import 2.2 VTEC automatic - would make life easier, but hard to find one

I think I said in the other thread man, but I've done two H23 to H22 conversions and making the H23 loom work with the H22 is a pain in the arse. There are enough differences to make it a more painful experience than it needs to be.
The second time, I used a JDM engine, an H22a from an import 4G, and used it's loom too. This meant the only bit of rewiring was to get the VTEC signal from the ECU to the suspension strut tower plugs. Much less hassle.
Regarding ancillaries, you can use all the H23 stuff (alternator/PS pump/aircon pump) just take the H23 crank pulley across to the H22 and you're golden. Your H23 distributor will fit the H22a as well, so don't worry about an engine coming quite bare. As long as you have the engine and loom, you're pretty much set.
All up to you of course, but that was my experience. Good luck!

OK - thanks for the info bud, I'm on the lookout for a donor car too. I've just gone on what VTEC Direct told me today.indigolemon wrote:I think I said in the other thread man, but I've done two H23 to H22 conversions and making the H23 loom work with the H22 is a pain in the arse.
