From what I read in the gear ratios sticky the M2F5 comes with either a 4.0 (AUDM :x ) or same 4.2 FD as M2B4?? .....

Now you say there's a factory 4.6!!?? I want one!!
no mate, they are 4.0 or something but witha different FD they are a nice set of ratio's. with the same fd as an m2a4/b4/u2q7 the ratios will be the same as an m2f4 if that helps ;)

Ahhhh I see now... Seems that just 4th and 5th gears are different between the two... U2Q7 accord R box looks like the box to have... 8-)

The U2Q7 is a good box for the road but the M2F5 is better for track. The U2Q7, like the M2P4, has a pretty big rev drop from 3rd to 4th that can only be overcome by hitting the rev limiter.

The M2F5 has a FD of 4.062 (all UK 2.2 Lude gearboxes apart from the M2P4 have this FD Vs the 4.266 of all other boxes) and because of this it has a shorter 5th gear to balance out the motorway cruising speed. Since it has a short 5th gear, when you combine it with a 4.64FD you can still accelerate hard in 5th. The M2A4, M2P4 and U2Q7 are not as suited for the track due their differing gear ratios.

Pretty sure you cant fit an aftermarket final drive to the M2B4.

Yes I noticed this. 2nd to 3rd are great, nice and short but 3rd to 4th in comparison is a bigger drop.

Not so much a problem for boost.

i seem to remember paying £300 for my manual M2B4.... ;)

prices of LSD boxes has come down the last few years ive noticed, but i still think that £200 is too little for one, £300 minimum imo their worth, and £400 minimum for a U2Q7 (and more for a facelift one) - but you'll always get some people desperate to flog something quick for a lower price which then sparks other people feeling they have to sell theirs for a lower amount to price match.
