outer sills maybe from someone breaking

in good condition, in other words black

mine have gone all white & stuff looks horrible

My advice for you if yours are crap, rub them down to bare metal and paint them in black- that is best way to refurb them

I've done a load of the seals on the car and it seems to work a treat. Coats them in new rubberized coating. I got mine at home depot in the us but you can buy it online here.

I actually have some blue plastidip so used it before

I just wondered if it would actually last

also did you take them off the car? or mask up on the car?

I haven't used it long term but what I have done seems to be holding up well.

I would think you could do them on the car fairly easily. The bottom and ends are easy to mask.

For the top I would roll the window right up and mast a couple of strips of tape above the seal then roll it down an inch or so before masking the rest up - the masking will be behind the seal then.

You haven't got much to lose by trying it

That plastidip stuff is awesome, any over spray just peels off.

There's some vids on YouTube of people spraying badges on cars with no masking

Yeah I think I saw a video of some guy with that stuff and he did the plastic bit between the windscreen and bonnet and underneath the wipers (no idea what it's called!) and it came up really well.

It seems good from my experiments.

The trick seems to be lots of thin coats as it does run easily.

I didn't know about just peeling the overspray off though. It doesn't peel off seals as I did try a spare first.

Painted it and then flexed it around, screwed it up into a ball etc and it stayed stuck without cracking

mine were cracked and horrid. I just masked the car, keyed them up with 1200g and used halfrauds 'vinyl bumper paint'. It does the job very well, If you do a good job
