im breaking the type S, but have no idea how to remove a petrol tank :oops:

If its similar to a 4th, its 4 bolts to remove the straps, off with the filler pipe and then the plugs and pipes from inside the boot.

why do you want a fuel tank? did you fill yours with kiln dried sand last winter to absorb the moisture in storage :lol: :lol: :lol:

I removed a fuel tank from escort before

not too bad, few bolts

just no smoking while your working on it :idea: :shock:

removing the tank is easy remove the inspection cover in the boot undo the electrical connection and the fuel pipes then get underneath and remove the filler from the tank or undo the filler from the filling flap then undo the 4 bolts on the straps while supporting the tank and take the whole tank down with or without the filler pipe attached
