Looking for 4th gen front upper wishbone

here is a pic of the ball joints that arrived today- £27 delivered (next day) for a pair.

ADD new upper arm bushes your not saving anything. if your taking the arm off I would renew everything! I wouldn't take an engine out just to renew half of it. do you own thing.

Yeah I did all 4 corners, and replaced the bushes with poly ones. Though even on my 22 (at the time) year old car, the rubbers were still fine.

I enjoy swinging hammers.......

I plan to fully poly bush mine very soon, was it a pain to do or not bad?

It was ok, actually quite enjoyable, using a blow torch and a hacksaw.

I took loads of pics, there in my build thread linked below, I've indexed it too.

well am going to be tight and just replace both ball joints.whilst its off I ll proberly clean up the arm and paint it.hopefully that's the only thing it will need for its mot

The mounts and arms on the 4th gen seem to fare pretty well imo most of the time the arms just need a wipe down - its only the ball joints that seem to fail. I replaced the mounts on the BB4 with es poly ones about 5 years ago and not had any issues but i dont really see how they offer any improvement over the OEM design. The mounts on the 5th gen dont seem to fare so well but its a different set up on the 5th at the front.

@damon make sure you get the right ball joints for the 5th gen as there is one or two differences - i will try and find the thread with the info
