Apologies, looking back at my first post I am not being that specific in what I need as was tired and waiting for the recovery and like a helmet I just gave a brief description...
Obviously I need a replacement p13 ecu (3 plug) for a 95 JDM gen 4, mine is a manual, has no abs, no traction control and is the non 4wheel steer version...
A few things that are testing my swede in my search for a new one... Being a 95, will an ecu from a earlier gen 4 JDM lude work? Are there any other just plug and go options I have regarding a replacement ecu? Or do I need a like for like replacement.

Any JDM 4th gen vtec manual 3-plug ECU will work fine.
Year is immaterial.
4WS/non-4WS is immaterial.
4-plug is with TCS. You can use it, but you need to splice a couple of the wires to get the tachometer to work. 3-plugs are easier to find, too, so forget looking for a 4-plug ECU's.
Pretty sure I have one spare, but unlikely to be able to check until the weekend, if you can wait that long...

You sure about that?

Sorry, other way round

You can use a 3 plug ECU in a 4 plug car fine, but you need to splice 2 wires to get the tacho working.

On that basis, I expect you can actually do it the other way round too though

I've used a 4 plug ECU in my 3 plug car with no issues (except a 'hidden' EML for the missing TCS).

So yes - you can use them either way.

So why the question?
