ah ha!! every day is a school dayMerlin wrote:The a8 has the more aggressive cams too. All the red top H22's (Type-S / S-SPEC / H22a7 / H22a8) all have 11:1 comp, the more aggressive cams and 62mm throttle body.

Ahem!Drax wrote:reeeeally. so if you took an a8, changed the inlet mani for an atr one (that had been modded to fit), add a better exhaust mani, type s intake and a p28 & Hondata then have it remapped, your looking at 20-40bhp gain

That is what Bennyboy did in his 4th gen. He got PAW to rebuild an a8 for him, fitted an ATR IM, ported the head and it now (or did before his engine hiccup) punts out 244bhp and 173lbft. A stock a8 is 197bhp with 153lb/ft or there about.Drax wrote:reeeeally. so if you took an a8, changed the inlet mani for an atr one (that had been modded to fit), add a better exhaust mani, type s intake and a p28 & Hondata then have it remapped, your looking at 20-40bhp gain
