I've bought a quick release adapter but my
deep dish steering wheel now sits too close.
I'm looking to swap my steering wheel for a
similar style flat one.
Here's mine:

Yeah it is a problem I have too. I will eventually get a flat one.

I looked for a shorter boss but the only one
around is the NRG at £90!

I use a cheap generic one. The NGR looks nice, Nafeman has one.
The short boss I use

The only problem is that once it is on your steering column, it stays on! You have to make sure it is on in the correct position first time.

Ah ok
So basically attach the wheel without the horn button, slide it on to the steering column, put the nut on without cranking it up too tight and take it for a gentle spin with the necessary tools to make any adjustments to make sure it's aligned before cranking it up all the way and fitting the horn button

Can't you remove the cover to reveal a flange?

TBH I haven't really checked. I drokked up the install and the steering wheel was mighty squint. Luckily it was straightened out through the track rod ends during a wheel alignment.

Thanks Merlin!
I searched for ages on ebay without success
for a crx one.
It seems that sometimes you only find the right
thing if you search in an ebay seller's shop?
