You can get them off eBay or you can jam the flywheel through the flywheel inspection hole. Jamming the flywheel is how I/we do it.

Thanks Merlin, I was trying to get one cheap because I'm tight, and I figured someone would probably have one lying around.
I had a look at the flywheel but I didn't see an easy way to jam it (gearbox is currently off). I didn't want to risk stressing the components if I jammed the flywheel end or damage the flywheel teeth. What did you use to jam the flywheel?

The tool is about £25 on ebay, once you have used it, I'm sure you could sell it on for not much of a loss.

i just feed a load of rope into a cylinder through the spark plug hole so the crank cant complete its revolution, best way i found to do it, without a tool of course lol.

Just a prybar.

That is a bit "out there" isn't it? You would have to time it right so it is on the compression stroke? Or the valves would get damaged.

I have a crank pulley holding tool, I am not looking to sell it, but if you cover postage, and return it, I could lend it too you.
