Hi guys looking for as much help as I can get I have a 2.0 lude non VTEC looking to put a bigger engeine in there and have been told to get a h22a.

Does anyone no how much I should be spending on one and would I need the wiring loom to go with it ?

Hate to say it fella but unless your 2.0 lude is something really special then you'd be better off cashing it in and buying yourself a 2.2 vti or similar.

As Farlow said. Fortunately there are still enough rust free 5th gens about to make finding a decent VTEC an easier job than doing an engine swap. A decent known good low mileage motor can set you back £500, the gearbox £100 (for a basic) or £250 for LSD, the harness another £100, the ECU £50, the larger brakes £150 (including cheap new discs), so probably round that up to £1000 once you've included new fluids and bits and bobs.

... And then you have to swap it.

Plus you'll still be 4 stud, where as 5th gen VTECs are 5 stud, so you might want to do that swap as well.

Personally I'd save and wait until the right one comes along and then part with your 2.0l

... Unless of course it has sentimental value or it's incredibly low mileage ;)

There's still some decent rust free 5th gens about and for very little money these days.

So yeah, definitely bye bye 2.0 ;)

I think you'd be unlucky to pay parts prices quite as high as that from a lude broken on the forum?

But yep, if your 2.0 shell is rotten, you might as well just buy a rust free 2.2 to start with, definitely cheaper and simpler!

There's a cheap 2.2 spares/repair for sale on here atm, needs an auto-manual swap. You have all the bits needed on your existing 2.0 (barring a gearbox with the right ratios for a 2.2, flywheel and clutch) so that would be a good option?
I have a 2.2 (non LSD) box available to make up what you're missing.

That's not a bad plan tbf because I'd like to keep a lot of the stuff on mine i.e exhaust and wheels as both of them set me back around the 800 mark how much would you want for gearbox ?

I have 3 boxes kicking around, so you could have one for £50 tbh. Collected (you, or LG express).
I could do you a used standard flywheel as well I expect.
