Hi guys,
This might be mega rare to get, but I'm after EL complete speedo for an automatic 2.3i. Preferably from a UK spec that has SRS and 4WS. Don't mind the mileage, my buddy wants to do an upgrade on his pre-facelift model after seeing my facelift lude.
See picture below:
If you have one, give us a shout.
Cheers

yep very rare also he will need the full dash loom to go with it and then its probably going to be a nightmare to get working properly

Ok, there's a breaker on eBay who has the loom but speedo has gone - so will get that sourced.

Guys, where is the mileage stored in the speedo meter on these?

IIRC, it's on a rom chip.
I read somewhere about a guy who, after some trial and error with the settings, worked out what was what and was able to input his old mileage after the swap.
Can't find it now though.

The mileage is on a separate board on the unit, only 3 screws to swap them over.
As an aside, on the board the mileage is stored on 2 ROM chips, i know how to reprogramme them, but you'd have to desolder them first.

Interesting, didn't know this... (probably because my name isn't turbotimer

)
Wasn't a major issue when I fitted the El dials to my UKDM, because it so happened I found a set that was only about 1k out (or something like that). Lisa's would end up miles out (and higher) though, so might look to correct that if I can

If I sent you the unit, would be able to do the desolder and program it to correct mileage?

Sorry, I know how to do it, but my soldering skills are sub par and I do not have the eeprom hardware either.
