Hi, I have found a long list of stuff needed on the BB4 to try and do before JDM Coombe this weekend :?
It's looking very dubious, but I wanna give it my best shot...
Consulting my parts store has thankfully located most of the items but I need the following;

- Outer CV boot (TBH I would also do the inner one at the same time, but it's the outer that I need).

- Gasket for front joint of JDM cat (yep original is crush ring, but the FGK header doesn't have a recess for the ring, so can't use one)

- M14 x 1.25 (or is it M14 x 1.5) Stainless Steel plain nut or lambda sensor boss

Any ideas? I need them ideally by weds am (thurs am latest!)

Also, if anyone happens to know where I could lay my hands on a centre pipe-back box gasket for a Skunk 2 prelude exhaust... that would be great :D
:think: Presumably a reinforced common or garden exhaust gasket would do?
What size to go for though? Skunk 2 is 60mm, which is between 2.25 and 2.3"! And bolt hole spacing of course matters.

EDIT: sod it, have ordered a few options off ebay to see what fits.

Only way you will get the gasket your talking about is from ordering from Japan. The fgk one is only 2" tho so it mates up with a standard cat.

Cheap decats come with them to but there always bigger than the 2".

Cv boots blueprint part numbers are here

Hope this helps.

What do you mean a lambda boss mate? I have 2 that weld onto the exhaust . They were cheap on ebay though

The last time i made a cat gasket i bought one of those large exhaust back box repair kits (holt gum stuff), and simply flattened the 'wrap' piece of metal , and cut and filed it to shape with some tin snips (double layered). Not that tricky and worked fine surprisingly with a little bit of gum (try not to get excess in the cat) - was a pre MOT precaution for a friend on a H22a5 BB8).

Yep, we're talking the same language. I mean this kinda thing;

I had the size wrong (trusts me for believing an online parts catalogue!). Having now measured it, it's actually M18 - thanks to Jon for pointing me in that direction!
Have ordered a couple on ebay from different sellers, in the hope one turns up in time.

Have also ordered a sheet of universal gasket paper that will hopefully do for the front of the cat (although I suspect won't last - will probably get too hot there, hence why Honda use a crush ring in the first place)
