Is it making a whine noise, then stopping and the ABS light coming on? If so, there's a fix.
It involves a partial strip down and a clean. I'll try to find it and post the link.

Hi. I'm not sure there's whine, but the ABS light is on. I looked up the dash error code months ago, and that indicated a problem with the ABS pump. I showed my mechanic a print out of a web page that details how to clean the ABS, and he's agreed to try it. But just in case it doesn't fix it, I thought I try finding a used replacement as well, just in case cleaning didn't fix it. Then he could just swap it out rather than my car be in bits in his garage while I hunt for a replacement.

Yep, sounds like a plan. That is indeed the link too.
Mine has come on recently, I'm led to believe its as a result of not being driven a lot, which would make perfect sense in my case, as it doesn't do a lot of miles anyway and was off the road for about a month with a battery draining central locking issue. Thankfully its a piggyback type system so not the be all and end all, but I'd like to get around to cleaning mine in the near future.

Hi. It was back in December when I checked the code, but I'm pretty sure the code was 1. I live in Chatteris, which is between Cambridge and Peterborough, kinda.
