nah you can do it single handed!
the 'dragging' is the part that really screws it up in my opinion. Also the picture of that tool is not showing the correct usage according to the Honda manual. feeler should go between cam and follower.
My method:
Slacken the lock nut.
Unscrew the adjustment a lot
Slip the larger of the range (8thou for exahust, 7thou for inlet if i remember) between the lobe and the follower (not the valve stem and adjustment screw)
Using light finger pressure only on the tool, tighten the adjustment screw until it stops.
You will feel a very distinct point at which the feeler gauge is touching both completely, as the screw can no longer be turned by light finger pressure.
that distinct point is very repeatable (unlike the drag method).
This is what i set mine to.
The feeler guage pulls out, its quite stiff but not crushed or marked (light finger pressure only remember!)
I find the drag method to be quite unrepeatable and fiddly, also requiring a second set of hands. Whilst following the drag method in the manual to the letter (light drag) i always found my setting was too large (and quite noisey/clackety). I'm guessing the finish on the feeler gauge could impact that.
