Wanted: 5th Gen - Door / Rear Hole Seals
Hi guys,
I’m after the door hole seals for my 5th Gen. It’s a plastic seal sheet the site between the door and door card. I need all four please.
If there is a universal plastic sheet I can buy, please let me know.
Pictures below:
Cheers

Hi Arif,
I used this:
2M X 2M 1000G CLEAR HEAVY DUTY POLYTHENE PLASTIC SHEETING GARDEN DIY MATERIAL
It’s heavier duty than the original and is meant for outdoor use so just right for this use.
Fixed with this:
Butyl round cord, black, 6 mm x 8 m or 8 mm x 6 m, black

It might be worth trying to get a set from a breaker even just as a template to copy - as I seem to recall that there was some special pockets which were ultrasonically welded to the sheet.
I'm sure you will get away with just a single sheet , but there must be some design consideration in the 'pocketing' that is worth keeping (example on the right hand side of your first picture where the loom comes upwards).

I bought some inner mebrane sheeting off ebay - it was listed for vw - just looks to be plastic sheetingto me so like others have mentioned so just go with standard plastic sheet and some butyl tape - you can keep the plastic pockets in place and seal round them with the butyl.
Sure you will be treating the inner arches with dynax or dinotrol etc

Thanks guys, that really helps!
@vanzep i was going to use carplan waxoil clear rust proofing aerosols but ill get the dynax or dinotrol, they seems to have good reviews!
Is this a good one?

I would go for the dynax s50 - one with a long lance attachment - this helps get right into the double skin of the arch - one big can should do both rear inner arches. you should see some areas where the wax runs through the arch and out onto the tyres (this is a good thing im told) so do cover them up before starting.
