*Wanted* Looking for a 5th gen gearbox!

Hiya,
Looking for a gearbox for my 2.0 BB9.. suffered from the dreaded 3rd/5th gear crunch which then deletes your option to reverse.
From what I've heard when I looked up H22 swaps, the 2.0 gearbox can be used on a 2.2 so I assume they're interchangeable? The code on mine is a "M2J4" but open to see what's about. £££!
I'm located in Maidstone, Kent, south east England. So willing to collect!
Thanks

You can search on google for the various gearboxes and their codes. It shows all the ratios.
The important thing to remember is the difference in revs and power from the 2.2 is much higher than the 2 litre, the ratios are different accordingly (but weight of the cars is the same almost).
Whilst it might fit - it could well drive terribly. Best to try and find the correct gearbox for your car, I suspect other hondas have the same box with similar ratios.
Given that the rest of the car and its major components are usually so reliable and they are getting quite old now - for big important bits, it starts to make sense to just buy a donor car out right. If you buy a gearbox off a man breaking a car, and he didnt drive/own it , how do you know the box is good? not worth the agro... day off, drive somewhere, pay cash , get broken gearbox , pay to have broken gearbox fitted - car still broken

.
I bought a box that was supposed to be good - glad i got it checked over before hand, otherwise i would have wasted a lot of effort fitting it myself. Tried to save a buck, but ended up costing me dear (but still saved me the agro at least).
Time and effort is a real cost - best to factor that in first in order to get a working car at the end of it. Normally it is a problem such as this that ends up with the car and owner parting ways after the 'effort' goes over what people are willing to expend (and normally fitting a new gearbox after having just fitted another one would push people over the edge!)
I've seen MOT fail 2 litres go for about 300quid - not much more than some one on ebay clearing out their garage would charge for a random gearbox that might have worked 5 years ago for a civic project they never got round to yada yada yada...

Heya buddy, my only worry though is your running a 2.0L and as Scott has mentioned above. I'm worried that it might be an arse to drive due to the different gear ratios. The M2P4 was made for the H22A8 which typically runs 197bhp. I think it might be worth checking with other members whether it's a good way to go!

Hiya mate,
I see what you mean, but I know of a couple of people have fitted either the M2P4 or the U2Q7 ATR gearbox to the f20a4. The gear ratios are the same in both 2.2 boxes, and I've spoken to a chap in Poland who'd done the swap and he reported no problems and that it was very much plug and play. From research, the gear ratios will be a bit shorter but the final gear ratio is the same, which doesn't bother me, will probably feel better to be honest.
My current box M2J4 - 3.285 - 1.807 - 1.266 - 0.966 - 0.787 - 4.266
ATR Gearbox U2Q7 - 3.285 - 2.090 - 1.481 - 1.071 - 0.870 - 4.266 LSD
M2P4 Gearbox M2P4 - 3.285 - 2.090 - 1.481 - 1.071 - 0.870 - 4.266
I appreciate your concerns, but I'm still happy to go ahead! It's a punt i'm willing to take
Thanks
Toby
P.S. in reply to Scott560, I'd love a donor car, but barely have room for my IS200 and my Prelude together!
