Wanted - 5g Blue Body Panels

Post by EddieMunster » Wed May 06, 2020 5:37 pm

For speed and ease, I'm after both doors, both wings, bonnet and bumpers; have to be in pretty good condition and from the dark metallic blue. I'm willing to pay a premium for any panel that's completely unmarked, or could be returned to its former glory with a machine polish and mop.

I could paint what I have, but, I'd rather keep it original if I can.

Just as an FYI , any message on ebay that has anything that looks like a phone number, ebay will block it. They do this to stop people doing deals outside of ebay and also for buyer protection.

Had the same issue once before - its probably the same for email addresses aswell...

I'd enquired about a couple of bits from that one and never heard anything back either.

That's the same for almost all breakers of these, and I mean almost ALL; unless you're asking for something that's worth their while, they're just not interested.

This is what i thought - until i realised that if you put your phone number in the outgoing message to them, or they put their phone number in the reply to you - it gets blocked and the communication doesn't occur. i suspect a number of keywords relating to other communication methods would also block it (eg an email address, etc).

Ebay aren't just going to allow people to list items, never sell them, yet have hundreds of messages/transactions go under the counter and not make a penny on it. Also, anything that happens outside of ebay transaction isn't protected, so ultimately just ends up with bad reputation building for ebay as a whole if things go wrong.

I think its the way it needs to go , as much as a hassle as it is listing parts , its the best way to make the dosh and keep everyone happy. Sadly it's a lot of effort (although less than youd think using the mobile app). Printing your own postage labels is pretty easy to, and coupled with royal mail parcel drop off points - its a good way to sell stuff - its just not terribly suited to cars yet. Perhaps ebay need to work on that mechanism but perhaps not worth their while.

My message to them was something along the lines of 'is the bonnet still available?'.
