I think i need this to fit the fgk manifold and downpipe. If anyone has experience of fitting fgk mani/downpipe then any advice welcome
It is the oem part as used on on the oem exhaust downpipe.
Item 13 as shown on the diagram.
This bolts up to the bracket on the fgk downpipe also shown below.
If anyone has one then post up

That thing does bolt to no. 13, yes. Your car should have no. 13 as standard.
That bracket does have a habit of fracturing as the cars age, though so you might have it there, but it's broken half - can be fixed by welding back together.

yeah its not there (item 13) and i think i need it to fit the fujitsubo downpipe. i presume (item 13) bolts to the bracket welded to the fuji and bolts up to the underneath of the car. i plan on doing this job myself so need all parts at hand

thanks Drax - i think Merlin or newkid said the same about not having the bracket but i want it bolted up nice and tight as loads of speed bumps and potholes - i also thought not having the downpipe bolted up would cause a problem with gasket between mani and downpipe which seems to fail a lot....

might just have to fit it and then measure up for bracket and get one custom made....

It bolts to the back of the block rather than the chassis.
It's needed to support the weight of the downpipe and take all the strain off the joint between downpipe and centre section - on the oem design, this is a stainless flexi (inside the braid is actually a continuous stainless pipe, but convoluted so it can flex) whereas on the Fuji is a doughnut swivel joint.

do 5th gens also have this bracket? Worth looking on Lings, in which case probably easier to find one off a breaker.

They have a bracket but I'm almost certain that its a tab that is solidly mounted on the down pipe (welded) and then bolts onto the block with 2 bolts
Correct me if I'm wrong though

yep 5th gens are different jst one bracket from diagram ek9sid put up - 4ths have welded bracket that item 13 bracket bolts to which then bolts to the back of the block so two brackets in total like wurly says - the fuji downpipe has same/similar to oem and will need item 13 or custom bracket. item 13 is no longer made so breaker it will be - but there must be a few out there that have been removed and put to one side when aftermarket exhaust fitted and that accounts for most 4th gens
maybe best to fit the exhaust and get a bracket made to suit
