Wanted ATR twin pot calipers and carriers

Looking for a set for my S2000. No rush but if some come up great.

What’s the benefit of fitting ATR on to the S2000??
I know the ATR (300mm) are better over the Prelude (280mm).

Twin pistons are just a better caliper, better clamping on the pad I suppose. S2k discs are 300mm but its been a good upgrade people have reported.

Atr discs are slightly thicker than s2k/ep3. 28mm vs 25mm. Apparently that 3mm helps a lot with brake disc overheating. That and the piston sizes being 38/42mm vs the single 54mm in the s2k.

One thing worth noting is the leading/trailing set up on the front brakes. Accord type r has a leading caliper on the front end whereas the s2k/ep3 has a trailing caliper set up. As the atr calipers have different sized pistons, I believe that in order to have them operating to their full potential (please correct me if I'm wrong - I'm sort of hypothesising here) they would have to be fitted upside down (bleed nipple pointing to the floor). Might be worth having a look at the legend twin pot calipers. I can't remember what size disc they had but they had the same piston sizes in the caliper but were mounted as a trailing setup.

Legend is 282 x 28mm discs. Your spot on with the fitment tho. Would save the hassle of being fitted wrong way. Only thing you'd need to keep 300 is the proper carrier.

The ATR discs width is worth it. You can actually get your little finger into the air vents. I couldn't overheat them on long track stints.

You can still bleed them when fitted upside down, but its a pain. You have to unbolt the caliper lower bolt, pivot it up, jam something between the pads to mimic a disc, then you can bleed. I mistakenly had them fitted upside down on my prelude at first, until i read the accord type r service manual and realised they were the same fitment lol. They worked fine 'upside down' on the prelude, but there must be some science in the orientation of bigger piston and smaller one with respect to rotation (much like bicycle brake shoes are always toed out so they drag, to prevent squeal).

brakeparts.co.uk have the calipers in stock at extremely reasonable prices! its the carriers that are hard to get. No idea if the accord type r carriers fit the s2k though...

They will be remanufactured, but i've used their budweg pistons without issue twice now, and they will do a much better job of cleaning it and putting it together too no doubt.

AFAIK the s2k shares the same brake set up as the ep3. And the atr carriers are a straight bolt on for ep3 I believe. So should fit ok.

I had noticed brakes international are stocking the legend calipers, as I'm sorting out a brake set up for a friend. Just need to fine some atr carriers

And here me upgrading my ATR brake setup to Legend KB1 brakes and mooosive Nissan discs.
Unfortunately my ATR setup is spoken for.
