5th Gen Fuel and PS Pipes

I would simply make replacements, it doesn't make sense to try and source these parts.

1) They are no longer available from honda new
2) The size of them means shipping new or second hand would be a nightmare to avoid damage
3) second hand items are unlikely to be of considerably better quality, considering the effort to fit them.

Depending on your climate, you can get away with looping off the PAS cooler with some rubber hose (I did this when my metal pipe decided to let go) and it lasted just fine.

As for the fuel pipe - I've not had to replace it but its probably best trying to make your own, at least that way its new pipe. That's what i'd do.

You can search for parts here:
https://www.parts-honda.uk/ , once you get into a product sheet, and click an actual part number - you can then get to a place to search for any part numbers. Also, it will help you identify other models sharing the same part numbers (sadly not much shared with the lude!)

I have used these in the past, but no part number searching or cross compare:

Let us know how you get on...

Thanks for the reply - yep searched those sites already and was just hoping someone on here might have one kicking around.

Don't have the technical confidence to try making one myself, will see if i can find a willing mechanic!

Nice one

Good advice from Scott560 :)
if you dont want to use rubber hose on the PAS cooler then you could look at fitting a pas cooler off a Mk7 transit van - i used one one of my 4th gens - was very similar in size and i just used a few cable ties to hold it in place. Part was like new and cost £10 delivered ;)

5th Gen Fuel and PS Pipes

Post by Scott560 » Wed Mar 03, 2021 4:43 pm

I notice that the 5th gen can have 2 different coolers fitted.

https://www.parts-honda.uk/honda-cars/P ... 61/4/25401

my old 97 h22a5 had the small loop, 1 single metal pipe. (number 16)
My 99 h22a8 has the dual pipes, dual rubber joiners, and long U shaped pipe cooler with fins. 25+26+27+28+4 clamps + bolts)

Anyone know why there was a difference? I don't like the fact the large cooler has all the joints, but I guess the pipe would be impossible to fit as a single solid piece otherwise. My car does have an import marker - I'm assuming it left the UK then came back at some point, but perhaps the larger cooler was for hotter climates models?

From what I recall, the pipe on the inner wing area was in good condition, it was only the cooling part of the pipe/loop facing the elements at the front which became corroded. Perhaps a small row cooler with 2 very long rubber pipes is the best replacement, it could then connect directly to the top return on the PS resorvoir , and then to the short solid pipe on the rack, removing rubber pipe 13 and 2 more joiners in the process. Less joins, less chance of fail?

Something like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Al ... SwwmBd13hP , 2 lots of pipe and only 2 clips could replace an abundance of pipe work and clips? Obviously some sense needed for routing and mounting of pipes to ensure engine movement. the linked cooler might be a bit small compared to the large cooler, but probably cools more than the small one?
