I'm on the hunt for a non-leaky section of power steering coolant pipe to fit my H22A5 5th gen - specifically, the curved and finned bit that sits just in front of the radiator. Can anyone point me in the direction of one, or should I start looking at a universal alternative replacement?
Thanks in advance!
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Pretty sure these aren't available any more.
I simply looped the pipe back to itself to bypass the leak as have many others.
Ideally some sort of pipe for cooling should be used, but making up a bracket and ensuring your not increasing the possibility of a leak are things to consider. I couldn't find any similar finned/radiator pipe on ebay despite lots of searching. It must have another specific name.
I did look at some mini oil radiators that had long pipes, this could replace a large amount of the fixed and rubber piping, which should reduce the number of connections in the system, but never followed up on that idea... Pretty sure the later cars just have a pipe that isn't even finned.

Yeah, it's been really hard just trying to find a photo of one online!
It's a long shot for sure, as I know these are prone to rot - but thought it was at least worth an ask on here. The universal one I found on eBay looks decent but would likely be heavier and a bit of a fiddle to fit which, as you say, could increase the possibility of another leak.

This is the smaller one - I think this is what I have fitted on my h22a8 2000MY VTi, but my h22a5 1997MY had the long finned pipe that you mention.

Thanks for that, Merlin - very useful indeed.
Aside from anything else, it seems that sourcing an OEM Honda pipe might not be as important as I'd originally thought... going to work on a temporary fix this weekend, just to tie things over 'til I source the parts for something more permanent.
Will post the results here!

Go to a breaker's yeard and find a nice looking one off another car. Got mine from a 57 reg Hyundai Tucson GSi:
