Anyone got a working ECU for a UK 2.2 VTEC Manual?

a5 or a8 engine?

Might be worth stating any other relevant detail (engine swap by any chance?).

I think this is probably for a 4th gen?

@Vtecmec Yep, it's 4th Gen, will check the exact ECU details tonight when I can get to the car.
I had a spark plug go bad and since then I have no spark at all. Initially thought the distributor was fried, but then noticed the engine check light does not come on at all. Will try and see if I can get any codes out of it with a paper clip, but suspect the ECU is toast as the 2 ECU fuses were both fine.

Worth checking the main relay too, as it provides some power to the ECU.

previous owner may have removed the check light bulb to get through an MOT - tbh i've never heard of an OEM Prelude ECU the cause of any issues. i would best guess it is something else imo

I'd agree with Drax, ECU's going bad are pretty much unheard of.

Dizzy's on the other hand are known to fail if one of the spark plugs isn't properly grounded..........

I'd agree - never heard of a faulty ECU.

Faulty main relay or other wiring issue most likely the cause.

Agree pretty much unheard of, but it does happen - I had one go in my BB4 (no, I didn't believe it either, but it was doing continual rev up/fuel cut and none of the usual idle control issues were to blame). Swapped the ECU with a spare and solved it. Swapped it back to confirm and re-appeared.
Bloody annoying, because that was a chipped ECU and it's now running stock
Definitely agree re: checking the CEL bulb first though!

Spot on, replaced the distributor coil pack and it started right up again. Had to run briefly with spark plug out to get the rest of it out, so back on the road and will be driving up for the Silverstone Japfest tomorrow 8)

Thanks for all the advice.
