hi guys, I checked resistance on the old sensor and got no readings at all... as if the multimeter wasn't connected.. I checked the nsf sensor and got lots of readings... all signs point to dead sensor and sam the man could be my new hero

yup - when they die they go to infinite resistance. You should get a reading that pulses as you turn the wheel.
