Power Steering Pipe - pretty urgent

Hi all,

My power steering pipes have started leaking from the joint where it goes from the engine bay through to the cooler.

It might just be the hose, but I think it's actually the metal pipe, so I'm after those please!

It's the 2 rusty pipes in the middle of this pic that I'm after.

Another pic viewed from above looking down;

One runs to just under the cruise control vacuum unit (then connects to a hose) and the other runs all the way over the nearside suspension turret and then down to join with a hose just behind the back of the engine.

Ideally I'd like to do this job (somehow :?) before JAE if poss???

Anyone got one and able to get in the post to me on Monday maybe?

Thanks :D

Hi I have the same problem mines leaking more though, I actually have a friend that knows some1 that makes the pipes. Only problem is you have to take them off and leave them with him, I'm located in Cambridgeshire if you are interested

The leak is worse than it looks in those pics tbh, there's a puddle on the drive etc...

Thanks, yeah could go custom made I guess if no joy elsewhere but would rather have oem.

Current breakers? @Bludge ?

Blokes removed power steering and maybe still got the kit? @Nafemannathan ? @nucleustylzlude maybe?

Mine were totally shot.

They don't carry much pressure, so I replaced the top one that runs to the reservoir (under the CC unit) with a flexible pipe throughout.

The bottom one I cut the corrosion out and just had a longer section of rubber hose from the pipe to the cooler.

Works a charm, and won't rot again.

That's a quicker and cheaper solution mec, thanks (don't know why I didn't think of it when I've done exactly the same on fuel pipes on other cars before  )

I am rather anal about this though  so I still wanna try and replace with OEM first if I can...

my friend had the same issue on his prelude, he tried looking for OEM parts but everyone's cars were in pretty much the same condition.

He ended up getting one made with flexible portion so that was easy to get in.turnaround time was quick.

If you are near Oxford then I can tell you who you got a made by.

You'll probably find this is the best and maybe cheapest option.
