Hi all,

I'm in need of a replacement fuel tank in rust free(ish) condition to replace mine. After the recent trip to jae where I filled the tank (not usual) I noticed a fuel leak which is probably on the seam. I crawled under the car and thats were it appeared to come from. Once its lower than half full its ok, or parked facing downhill. But I could smell fumes when working under the car recently, so needs sorting sooner rather than later. It's coming from the right hand side so its not the filler or fuel pipes side.

If you have one on a breaker which you know is working ok...let me know. I dont need the fuel tank straps as these have already been replaced with new.

Preferably someone near to me...West Yorkshire.

p.s. Sods law I had a spare and sold it to a member on here a while ago thinking I wouldn't need it.

normally its the filler neck that corrodes - this is a separate part from the tank - i saw nathan at itunes was selling a refurbed and powder coated(yellow) filler neck but that was some months ago
ive never seen a refurbed fuel tank for sale....would be nice to get one tho :)

My filler neck is corroded but not caused me any issues yet.

The plan is to get a decent fuel tank and either refurb myself or get renu to do their stuff on it, then re-fit to the car in one go.

Sorry about that.

I had this guy blast and prime the tank you sold me, and he's only round the corner from you too. http://www.millarsodablasting.com/

Thanks I forgot I sold it to you....drrr

That will be very useful to get it done...how much did he charge you for that service please?

He did the tank and the very large exhaust undershield at the same time, blasted to clean metal and zinc primed for £100 all in.

I bet he'd do the tank on its own for £60 -£70.

Oh, surprising there - I'm used to tanks rusting from the inside out :?
