As Gayno so rightly put in another thread we will have a lot of new members attending this year.
I know that it is hard to begin speaking to people you dont know, especially if they might not even be a member and are just walking by and give you a look. I know there were people who would have been more open, and maybe had a better time, if they had known who anyone was. I would have also had more chats with more people if i had realised i was stood next to them...
Iv asked if we could have proper name lanyards made up but nothings happened.
As such I'm asking people to think about wearing something with your name and forum handle on it. If you are a core member you owe it to the new members to be welcoming imho. Thats what we are built on. If you are a new member you might want to let people know you exist. otherwise its easy to fall into the default setting of standing back waiting till you hear a name you recognise. The day goes by and suddenly you realise the guy you were stood by, but didnt speak to, 4 hours ago is the guy you have a really good laugh with on forum but everyones going home...
I will be wearing the lanyard I got at the European prelude meet at the Nurburgring. it'll say james and LLL so come say Hi.
I will also be bringing a roll of stickers and a black marker pen. its your choice to identify yourself but it might make for a better day if we know who is who. Or at least that you are a prelude enthusiast.
