So just to continue where I left my plans last time.
Will be leaving via Dover on Sunday 23rd August to get to Calais. That gives me enough time to travel to Spain by Tuesday (25 August) where our hotel is booked (Abba Acteon in Valencia). Four days of stay there till Friday and then heading to Portugal and heading back from there on the 1st September, we need to get to Calais on the 3rd September.
Does anyone have any recommendations for like cheap hotels (showers at Petrol stations etc etc) as we will need to rest/freshen up during our big journey through France.
There are 12 of us, Me and Mrs in Type-S and the rest convoying in their own cars (mainly Golf and jobby ).
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Our trip was last year, to Scandinavia. We usually stop with family if we're in Benelux or Germany, so don't have a great deal of experience with motorway hotels etc. That might change in May/June when we go for another expedition. The plan this time is for the Alps, northern Italy and Germany's Erzgebirge.nitin_s1 wrote:I was looking at those but just wanted to see if someone on here have been there before etc etc.. I think @Sailor did a trip recently..
In the meantime, there's a list of lower cost French hotel chains on this site:-

We have decided that driving all the way through France and down to Spain will be a really long journey and when we get there we will be to tired to have fun in the Tomatina Festival. So now the alternative route is to go from Plymouth (or Portsmouth) to Santander (or Bilbao). That way we avoid the long France driving and also it will only be around 700km to drive. (~7hours drive compared to the long 17hours )
Any Prelude fans out there in Spain want to meet up for a mini meet.??
