LG Official: Hondafest Roadtrip 19-22 May
So Hondafest got the most votes in the poll, and given we have already been makes organising a lot easier, so here goes.
Keeping the same format as last year, we will meet in Folkestone on the Friday morning and take the tunnel over to France. Then we cruise over to the hotel, approximately 3.5 hours drive from Calais. We will stop once or twice along route and take it easy as there's no rush.
Arrive at the hotel Friday afternoon and settle in, have some dinner and beer.
Saturday is a free day to do what you like.
Sunday is show day. After the show we will meet back at the hotel and have a big group dinner to finish off the weekend.
Monday morning we pack bags and head back to Calais to catch the train back to England.
To give rough estimate of cost:
Channel tunnel crossing is currently around £130 return (cost per car, no extra for passengers)
Hotel I have found is £200 for 3 nights including breakfast (room for 2 people)
The venue is around 200 miles from Calais, so around 1 and half tanks of fuel (round trip, to be conservative) approx £70
Show entry is €10 per person
Then you will need to add food/drink/spending money on top
So the base cost is around £400 which is cost per car with 2 people in. Last year pretty much everyone brought their better half and everyone had a blast of a time. The weekend is more about the social than the show, so everyone is included, even non-car other halves!!
I realise we have left this quite late this year, but to get this booked up we need commitment from genuinely interested members. Please only put your name down if you are serious about joining us on this fantastic trip.
Also, you are not tied into the trip with us, if you want to stay on after the show and travel yourself, or even go over the week before and meet up with us on the Friday/Saturday then feel free to plan your own trip around the show and we will see you there

Question... The £200 for a room for two for 3 nights, is that £200 each or £100 each if I was happy to share with a fellow forum member?

Obviously not wanting to step on toes, but @vtecmec may have a spare bed, but then he may also like his privacy!?NafemanNathan wrote:Nah, I'd be going to get away for a good time. So the rest of the family can stay at home!
So anyone fancy sharing a room? I'm not Nitin or Ratty, so no worries there
