LG Roadtrip (France): HEM 26-27 Aug 2017

Post by Gayno » Wed May 17, 2017 9:42 pm

A few of us are hoping to travel to Honda Euro Meet in France this August.

The event is held over the bank holiday weekend so hopefully the extra day off will help some more of you come with us!

Plan will be to cross over and drive down on Friday afternoon, returning Sunday evening or Monday morning. Travel time from Calais is around 2 hours

Tunnel crossing is approx £145

Price for the whole weekend, to include camping is €35 for the driver, then €10 per passenger. We can look into hotels if people prefer but this will be at additional cost.

Motorway toll in France will be around €50

Take a look at the site, and get your name down if interested.

Yep. Up for this.
Not as epic a trip as Holland, but should be fun 8-)

So, do we need to agree some dates for crossings etc?

Anyone?

@Gayno @wurlycorner @BlackMwack @Sailor

I'll be booking the crossing this weekend, so it'd be good to have a consensus on times, etc............

What time is the crossing you're thinking of booking?

I detest the tunnel and always travel DFDS via Dunkirk. I like ships!
This may not be optimal for this particular trip, so I'm open to other ideas.

I'm thinking about 11ish on the Friday, so getting to the final destination mid afternoon.

Coming back crossing say mid afternoon on the Sunday.

Show doesn't open until Friday evening, so we don't want to get there too early.

Coming back, show still on during Sunday, so crossing back we'll miss half of the show?!

Don't forget, the Monday is bank holiday so we don't have to rush back ;)

I could do with not having to take the Friday off work tbh - I am off the next week for jae and the following week for a holiday. That extra day would be taking the body lemonade  although I should be able to work it so that I am working from home/slip off early on the Friday to allow an evening ferry rather than a night time one.
