Well it is only 2 hours from Calais, so wouldn't be the end of the world.

Would we be looking at hotelling or camping at the show?

I'm flexible with the travel times, so whatever works for you guys.

I'd rather not do the camping, is a hostel an option too?

Easy either way camping/hotel tbh.
Not a fan of hostels myself, but let us know what's about.
mec, if I'm working from home on the Friday, welcome to pop down and turn up at mine whenever suits during the day and we can then head off when ready :)

Found this cheap hotel about 15 mins from the circuit

Reviews show it as being very basic, but has a nice restaurant next door.

Current price is showing as €96 for 2 nights (Fri & Sat)
