I am still very much wanting to come and trying my best to make it happen, but won't know until Friday night probably...
After getting the BB4 on the ramp on monday afternoon to get the Lambda sensor swapped, this is the list of jobs I found I need to do before taking it on any reasonable length drive;
- Front pax lower balljoint boot
- Front upper Drivers side balljoint boot
- Pax outer CV gaitor
- Header-front of cat gasket
- Lambda sensor boss replace (cracked through in two places!)
- Front header pipe blow hole to weld (where the header has previously been extended)
- Centre silencer front pipe weld to re-weld (cracked all round)
- Partially blocked cat (some knob end has obviously previously used exhaust paste up-wind of it - I fitted it already bolted to the header so hadn't looked at the front of it before now)
Plus obviously the various balljoint castle nuts and split pins are drokked etc.
Consulted the parts stash and have replacement upper arms and replacement upper arm bushes (if needed), JDM cat in good nick, gearbox oil. Also have spare front hubs with decent balljoints (but the wheel bearing on the side I need feels a bit loose : ) spare driveshaft (but gaitor is badly cracked so not worth fitting) and a spare full FGK header in good nick, but it's UKDM length so no good (longer cat = shorter header ).
That's with me ignoring the perished front LCA bushes, ARB drop links and utterly perished track rod end boots - and I didn't dare look closely at the rear of the car suspension
So it's very touch and go... I have ordered loads of parts Monday evening, hoping they turn up in time but even if so... Lots for me to do over the next couple of evenings and needs si_import to come up trumps with a mobile tig welder to do the exhaust for me...
If I make it, the car won't be clean, the interior won't be fully put back after I messed about with the ECU fault-finding on monday am but... at least I'd be there!
Wish me luck guys

Over the page Sam...
I was just going to meet Lloyd and co at the show as the meeting spot is 25 minutes past Combe for me, but happy to meet in Chippenham if you don't join Lloyd yourself.Shiny wrote:CONVOY POINT FOR JDM COMBE:
For those travelling from the East, plan is to meet up at 6.00am/6.15am at Costa Coffee just off of the M4 Junction 16 (Swindon). https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/''/co ... 51.5469901
Aim to leave at circa 6.30pm after a coffee (and a bacon roll if on special) to arrive at JDM Combe (subject to queues!) at circa 7am.
If anyone fancies this, please put your name down so we know you are tuning up. Perhaps we can set a Whatsapp group up.

Sit-rep;
Car is still very much work in progress
After a good session on it last night, with massive thanks to si import still got the following to sort
- Driveshaft to rebuild and refit (hoping the boot turns up today)
- Exhaust to get welded
- Cat gasket to make
- Exhaust to rebuild/refit, driveshaft to refit, pax side suspension to rebuild
